Tiggly is Terrific!

I was excited to learn that Tiggly had developed another wonderful, educational app. When I told my five-year-old daughter, she couldnt wait to download it, because she thoroughly enjoys playing the other Tiggly apps (Tiggly Chef is her favorite!) this newest app doesnt disappoint! It is a wonderful introduction to vowel sounds and letter recognition, as well as an engaging and fun interface for children to be under-the-sea "vowel explorers". As a teacher and parent I appreciate the scaffolding the activities provided to the child - the first encounter with the word allows for detailed sight and sound connections to the word, the when it is revisited, the difficulty is increased and only the sight recognition remains. (One small suggestion with that though, some word pictures are easily confused as being a different word than intended, for example both "dog" and "pup" are picture clues for different vowel sounds, and my daughter had a hard time distinguishing the difference. Maybe a word that has a picture that isnt confusing with another word.) overall a wonderful and fun experience!
